I am wondering what the dimension are for the neck blocks you guys are using?

I have been working at getting the weight down on my guitars and am wondering how small I can get the block. I started with a blank yesterday and after some sanding ended up with a bock that is 2.5 in. wide and 1 in. thick, with some additional wood trimmed of the corners which are not glued to the sides. Is this to small?

My neck joint is a 14 degree dovetail that is cut a little under ? in. into the block. The dovetail is secured with 2 bolts, instead of gluing that joint.

Any thought would be appreciated.

Josh
